Matías Díaz Sangiorgio (Buenos Aires, Argentina, 1978) has attended to Nerea Díaz-Maroto, reporter of The Padel Interview, in a video interview in which the Warrior talks to us about his most recent sporting past, his vision of today’s padel, his sporting goals with Agustín Gómez Silingo , alias “The Beast”, and much more…
- With which player have you not had the opportunity to compete at a professional level and would you like to do so?
I would like to share the same side of the court with my brother Godo Diaz. We have already talked about it, and we would both like to fulfill that wish that we have not had the opportunity to do yet.
- Why couldn’t you play this week’s tournament, Cupra Las Rozas Open 2020?
In the last game we played in Alicante, after a bad gesture, I suffered a sprained knee. The doctors told me that it would take two weeks to be back on the court, but it was a bit tight and, to avoid major problems, we decided that the best option would be to recover 100% for the Master Final 2020.
- Do you see yourself fighting for number 1 next year?
The truth is that I prepare myself every day to aspire to the maximum; if this leads me to fight for number 1, great. What I wouldn’t like, would be to reach the end of my career and know that I could have given more of myself.
Therefore, I know that when I reach the end of my career I will not be able to reproach myself.
