Another tournament in which Ale Galan and Juan Lebron have been overwhelming, maybe more than in any other, maybe more than ever, from what the result shows and from what could be seen inside a court that seems to be too small for them.
In front of them were two great players like Paquito Navarro and Martin Di Nenno, who seem to have found the formula as a team this second half of the season, coming from a fabulous month of September.
However, little more could be asked of them after the Andalusian and the player from Madrid.
Lebron and Galan started like rockets, with a 3-0 lead and from there, they continued to dominate, with an insurmountable game, with almost no weak points and a lot of aggression in attack.
They hit over and over again, filling their opponents with errors and their own side with hits, being aware that if they maintained their consistency in their game, they would have won a lot.
That 3-0 lead turned into a 5-2 that practically ended the first set at the expense of a small resurgence at the end (5-3) that was not followed up. The 6-3 score put Galan and Lebron ahead in the final.
Rodri Ovide tried to encourage his team, reminding them that there was still a long way to go and that they had at least another set to go to turn the situation around.
They tried, there’s no doubt about it and they certainly didn’t lack effort, but what they had in front of them was on another unknown planet, one that was unreachable on Sunday afternoon.
Galan and Lebron followed Mariano Amat’s strategy to the letter and broke again (2-1), although the Spanish-Argentine duo quickly responded by returning the blow (2-2).
Two games later, Ale and Juan had another chance to break and they didn’t waste it and didn’t give up theirs (4-3) and faced the final straight of the match with all the guarantees.
With a 6-3 and 6-4 they closed the final, won their sixth title and once again showed their overwhelming superiority.
The No. 1’s seem to have no limit to their game, each tournament they are able to show us an improved version of the previous one.
